My name is Tamara, and I live in Calgary, Canada! I’m a software engineer by day, but I love all things creative. My sewing craze started when I was very young and used to sewing Barbie clothes with my mom in her sewing room while she was sewing clothes for me. It really took off when she bought me a sewing machine for xmas my first year in my own house. After discovering a real love and talent for sewing, I bought a “big girl” machine, a Pfaff creative (name Pfelicia) with a detachable embroidery arm. Pfelicia and I have been happily sewing since spring 2010. I sold my old machine to my very dear friend since the first grade, “G”, who’s mom is an experienced sewing and embroidering buff, but lives in the next provice over from us. Together we happily sew (and disasterously fail sometimes too), and talk about really important world issues, like boys and shoes… I guess not much has really changed over the years.
None of my engineer friends understand me, their eyes glass when I talk about my latest sewing project. None of my artsy friends get why I am so meticulous, perfectionistic, and why I had to rip out those stitches AGAIN because they weren’t quite right.
